Casamorati is an Italian perfume house with a rich history that dates back to the 19th century, when Claudio Casamorati founded the C. Casamorati Perfume Factory in Bologna. His vision was to create refined, artistic fragrances that unite craftsmanship, nature, and elegance.
The Origin of Casamorati
On April 17, 1888, Claudio Casamorati registered the trademark featuring the double C logo, which instantly made his perfumes and soaps recognizable. The logo became a symbol of luxury, quality, and Italian sophistication, earning the house international acclaim.
Among Casamorati’s admirers was Queen Margherita of Savoy, the first queen of Italy. During the Grande Esposizione Emiliana in Bologna in 1888, she met Claudio Casamorati in person. As a token of her appreciation, she presented him with a gold pin and declared that she could not begin her mornings without his perfumes.
From Prosperity to Revival
Casamorati enjoyed great success well into the early 20th century, but financial difficulties eventually brought the house to a halt around the mid-1900s. For more than sixty years, Casamorati perfumes disappeared from the market, until Xerjoff acquired the rights in 2009 and revived the brand.
During this relaunch, both the original bottle design and the historic C logo were preserved, ensuring that the authentic soul of the brand lived on.
A Tribute to Italian Craftsmanship
The modern Casamorati perfumes embody the same timeless charm, refinement, and artistic spirit as their predecessors. Inspired by the Art Nouveau style and pure Italian craftsmanship, they form a bridge between past and future.
Some fragrances, such as Fiore d’Ulivo and Mefisto, still follow the original formulas from more than a century ago. Others, like Bouquet Ideale, are modern interpretations of historical Casamorati creations.
The Modern Spirit of Casamorati
With its entry into the 21st century, Casamorati embraced a contemporary dimension without losing its classical identity. Fragrances such as Casafutura, Dolce Amalfi, and La Tosca combine the inspiration of Casamorati’s golden era with the most refined techniques of modern perfumery.
Each fragrance reflects the balance between heritage and innovation, between Italian romance and timeless luxury.
An Ode to the Past, Created for the Present
Casamorati perfumes are more than just fragrance creations; they are a love letter to Italian perfumery from the Art Nouveau era. They show how the beauty of the past can be revived in the present, not as an obstacle to innovation, but as a source of inspiration for the future.
Today, Casamorati is part of the Xerjoff Group and is recognized worldwide as a symbol of timeless elegance, artistry, and Italian luxury.
